# Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

This cookie policy (“Cookie Policy”) explains how Wake Inc. (“Wake,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit wake.inc, use the Wake platform, or access another Wake website or online service that links to this Cookie Policy (collectively, the “Services”). This Cookie Policy should be read together with our [Privacy Policy](https://wake.inc/privacy/), which explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information more generally. If you have any questions about our Cookie Policy, please contact us at [privacy@wake.inc](mailto:privacy@wake.inc).

## 1. What Are Cookies And Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your browser or device. Cookies allow websites to recognize a browser, maintain a session, remember preferences, protect against fraud, and understand how a website is used. We may also use technologies that perform similar functions, including:

- browser local storage and session storage;
- pixels, tags, and software development kits;
- device or browser identifiers; and
- scripts that record preferences or transmit information about interactions with the Services.

In this Cookie Policy, we refer to these technologies collectively as “cookies.”

## 2. Where This Cookie Policy Applies?

This Cookie Policy applies to the Wake Services that link to it. Certain Wake applications, mobile applications, customer environments, integrations, or third-party services may use additional technologies or may be governed by separate notices. Where that is the case, we will provide additional information in the relevant service or interface.

## 3. What We Don't Do

- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles beyond measuring the performance of our own campaigns.
- We only load analytics and advertising cookies after you've opted in through our cookie banner, nothing in those two categories runs by default.
- You're always in control. Accept, reject, or change your mind later, see your [privacy settings](https://wake.inc/cookies/#managing-cookies) below.

## 4. What Cookies Do We Use?

We group everything we use into four categories: **essential** (the site cannot work without them), **functional** (they remember your preferences), **analytics** (help us understand how the site is used), and **advertising** (help us measure and improve our ad campaigns).

### 4.1 Essential

These keep you signed in and protect our forms from abuse. They can't be switched off through this site.

| Cookie | Purpose | 1st/3rd Party | Retention | Privacy Policy |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| wake_session_token | Keeps you signed in. Stored in your browser's local storage and sent with each request to identify your session. On our custom domain the API may also set an equivalent same-site session cookie. | 1st Party | Until you sign out, the session expires, or you clear browser storage | [Wake Privacy Policy](https://wake.inc/privacy/) |
| __cf_bm | Helps Cloudflare identify and manage automated traffic and protect the Services against bots and abuse. | 3rd Party (Cloudflare) | Approximately 30 minutes | [Cloudflare Privacy Policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/) |
| cf_chl_* and similar | Support Cloudflare security challenges used to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic. | 3rd Party (Cloudflare) | Session or another limited period determined by Cloudflare and the relevant configuration | [Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum](https://www.cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy/) |

### 4.2 Functional

These remember choices you've made so the product feels the way you left it. They're only set once you interact with the relevant feature, and the site still works fine without them.

| Name | Purpose | 1st/3rd Party | Retention | Privacy Policy |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| wake.theme | Remembers your light/dark theme choice. | 1st Party | Until you change it or clear your browser storage | [Wake Privacy Policy](https://wake.inc/privacy/) |
| sidebar_state, wake.sidebarCollapsed | Remembers whether you collapsed or expanded the application sidebar. | 1st Party | Up to 12 months or until browser storage is cleared | [Wake Privacy Policy](https://wake.inc/privacy/) |
| wake_pending_invite | Temporarily stores a team-invitation reference so that the invitation can be applied after you complete sign-up or authentication. | 1st Party | Until the invitation is redeemed, expires, or browser storage is cleared | [Wake Privacy Policy](https://wake.inc/privacy/) |
| wake.cookie_consent | Remembers your cookie choices so we don't ask again on every visit. | 1st Party | Until you change your preferences, the record expires, or browser storage is cleared | [Wake Privacy Policy](https://wake.inc/privacy/) |

### 4.3 Analytics

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics – loaded through Google Tag Manager – to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. Google Tag Manager itself does not store cookies; it loads the tags below. These run only after you opt in.

| Name | Purpose | Type | Retention | Privacy Policy |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| _ga, _ga_* | Used by Google Analytics to distinguish users and maintain session information, helping Wake understand how visitors use the website. | 3rd Party (Google) | Up to 2 years | [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) |

### 4.4 Advertising

If you accept advertising technologies, we may use the Meta Pixel and related cookies to measure whether visits, form submissions, sample requests, and other interactions resulted from Wake advertising campaigns. These technologies may also support campaign attribution and the creation of advertising audiences. Where required by applicable law, they are activated only after you provide consent.

| Cookie / Technology | Purpose | Type | Retention | Privacy Policy |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Meta Pixel | A tracking technology provided by Meta that helps measure visits, form submissions, sample requests, and other interactions associated with Wake advertising campaigns. It may also support audience creation and advertising measurement. | 3rd Party technology | Not applicable; the Pixel itself is a script and does not have a fixed retention period | [Meta Privacy Policy](https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/) |
| _fbp | Stores a browser identifier used by Meta to measure visits and interactions associated with advertising campaigns. | 1st Party | Up to 3 months | [Meta Privacy Policy](https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/) |
| _fbc | Stores information about a visit resulting from certain Meta advertising links, including campaign click information. | 1st Party | Up to 3 months | [Meta Privacy Policy](https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/) |

## 5. Managing Cookies

You can change or withdraw your consent to the cookies covered by our cookie banner at any time using your personal privacy settings tool. Look for a “Cookie settings” or “Your Privacy Choices” button at the bottom of wake.inc or the applicable Wake product, or use this direct link to manage your cookie preferences: Manage cookie preferences.

If you're in a US state with privacy opt-out rights (like California under CCPA/CPRA), use **Your Privacy Choices** to opt out of advertising cookies used to measure our ads – which those laws treat as “sharing” your personal information. You can also clear or block cookies and local storage directly through your browser settings – most browsers let you delete site data for a single site. A couple of things to know:

- Blocking essential items will sign you out and may stop forms from submitting.
- Clearing functional items just resets those preferences – nothing breaks.

You can change or withdraw your consent to analytics and advertising cookies at any time:
